VVR1200
The Vision Systems Technology Vehicle Video Recorder (VVR 1200) series is a digital video recorder specifically designed for use in public transport, emergency service and cash-in-transit vehicles. It is available in 3 formats to record 4, 8 or 16 channels of video, plus optional audio.
The VVR1200 is a world leading product. See below how it compares to its competitors.
Every aspect of the unit has been designed with 24/7 vehicular use in mind. From the operating system stored on shock proof, solid state memory to the storage of images in a separate unit improving retrieval and security of evidence.
The unit is capable of capturing images at a market leading DVD standard quality. The capture rate of images is 25 frames per second per camera, a total of 400 frames per second from up to 16 cameras. This is four times the rate offered by competitors and means the vital evidence is always captured.
In addition to the basic functionality of the recorder the VVR 1200 is also capable of simultaneously transmitting excellent images anywhere in the world via mobile networks.

External hard drive
Whilst the 1200 series DVR can record to an internal drive (either standard or solid state), most units are sold with a ruggedised external disks.
The disks use either 2.5” or 3.5” harddisks and offer up to 2TB. Up to 4 disks can be used in parallel to deliver 8TB.
Vision Systems also offer a ruggedised, fully waterproof NAS hard drive with dual disk RAID array, and a solid state external drives in capacities up to 128GB.
Remote surveillance
The Vision Systems Technology Network Surveillance Recorder (NSR) offers fully functional digital video recording from up to 16 inputs and 25 frames per second per camera. Its ability to capture DVD quality images is essential to the operation of remote or covert surveillance as the smallest detail may prove to be the biggest piece of evidence.
As with the VVR 1200 series, images can be stored remotely from the recorder, which allows almost limitless capacity for storage of multiple images for extended periods of time. This makes the NSR ideal for monitoring remote locations where access may be restricted or infrequent. The ability for storage devices to be kept up to 30 meters away from the unit has implications for covert surveillance where returning to the camera station frequently is undesirable.
It is also possible to transmit images over the mobile networks to allow remote monitoring and control.
