NEW! Solid State drives – June 2009
Vision Systems Technology now offers solid state drives for both internal and external storage. Internal storage is available up to 256GB and external to 128GB. Solid state has an advantage over mechanical drives in being highly resistant to shock and vibration, and in being physically small. Although Solid state is typically a more expensive technology, it can be a cost effective solution for some applications. For users requiring less than 250 camera hours of storage, solid state may be cheaper.
NEW! Back up recording – June 2009
The VVR1200 can record in parallel onto a separate drive. This provides a secondary source of backup evidence in the event that the primary recording is stolen or damaged.
This backup drive could be on a small solid state drive which could be hidden or made unavailable to unauthorised users.
NEW! Automatic alarms by email or SMS – May 2009
When an incident is detected, the VVR1200 can be programmed to transmit alarms in a variety of formats including:
- SMS to predefined numbers
- Emails
- Start transmitting live images from cameras predefined according to alarm type
- Prepare for transmission a pre-event recording clip (eg 30 seconds prior to event
Major logistic group ‘very interested’ in deploying Vision Systems Technology VVR – April 2009
A leading UK logistics group is working closely with Vision Systems Technology to address some specific operational issues regarding their HGV vehicle fleet. A key factor is Vision Systems Technology’s PC platform and the ability to easily integrate with other data systems.
Video Encryption to NATO standards – Mar 2009
For users with highly sensitive video images, Vision Systems Technology now offers the option of encryption of all video. This means that the recordings will only play on replay PCs where the Vision Systems Technology replay software is installed, and where there is a valid
encryption key.
Vision Systems Technology encryption is to 256 bit AES standards – until recently the standard used by national security agencies.
Substantial orders for emergency services across the UK – Feb 2009
Vision Systems Technology continues to win good business amongst emergency services in the UK. Several ambulance services now use Vision Systems Technology recorders, as do many fire services including Hampshire.
New assembly operation for Vision Systems Technology – Jan 2009
Vision Systems Technology has agreed a contract with a division of US conglomerate Danfoss (2008 turnover USD 10bn) to assemble Vision Systems Technology DVRs under licence. Assembly operations are conducted to ISO 9001:2000 and ISO TS/16949 Automotive QMS standards. Current annual capacity exceeds 8000 units.
High tech images and 3G live footage prove vital at level crossings – Dec 2009
Vision Systems Technology video recorders are being used by Network Rail to enhance passenger safety at remote level crossings. Key to securing this contract was Vision Systems Technology’s ability to deliver practical CCTV solutions over 3G networks. Network Rail required both high quality image for evidence, and lower operational quality images for immediate transmission in the event of an incident. They also required a web based client to view live and recorded images.
Vision Systems Technology at Eurobus 2008 - November 2008
From Tuesday 04 to Thurs 06 November 2008, Vision Systems Technology will be at the NEC in Birmingham exhibiting at Eurobus Expo 2008, Europe's largest bus and coach show. Vision Systems Technology are in Hall 5, Stand D10A. We will be showing our updated range of Vehicle Video Recorders, live image transmission, an enormous 1500 GB ruggedised Hard Drive (capable of 3 months image storage) and a new back office management suite.
New Offices for Vision Systems Technology - September 2008
Vision Systems Technology is moving. The new corporate HQ is now in high tech offices in Newton Aycliffe, just off the A1 between Darlington and Durham. We now have more space for the expanding business, and are more conveniently located for customers and suppliers. The Southern office remains in Southampton Science Park.
UK’s largest tram network chooses Vision Systems Technology – August 2008
Stagecoach Manchester Metrolink, the UK’s largest tram network, has chosen Vision Systems Technology video recorders for its major fleet overhaul. The refurbishment programme for 32 trams will be complete in Summer 2009.
Cash in Transit armoured car order - May 2008
Vision Systems Technology has broken into the Cash in Transit armoured car business with a 40-unit order from a specialist UK system integrator.
Strong customer service was a deciding factor - within 48 hours of placing an order Vision Systems Technology engineers had personally delivered the first units to site and were training and supervising the initial installations.

Stephen Quigley joins Vision Systems Technology team - March 2008
Stephen Quigley has been appointed Operations Manager for Vision Systems Technology, based in the Northern office.
Stephen is responsible for business information, business process, purchasing and production.
Stephen knows the CCTV industry well after spending a number of years in senior positions at Cyberlyne Communications.
New Technical Services Engineer joins Vision Systems Technology - Feb 2008
Vision Systems Technology is pleased to announce that Adam Jackson has joined Vision Systems Technology as a Technical Services Engineer. Adam is an electronics engineer who in the past 14 years has specialised in the CCTV arena, working in both mobile and commercial environments.
Adam has a detailed understanding of vehicle electrical systems, and so is in a strong position to support and train System Integrators' teams in both installation and maintenance.

Vision Systems Technology is very pleased to announce that Graham Pugh will be joining the Vision Systems Technology board as Chairman, with effect from 01 January 2008.
Graham was previously CEO of the Datel Ferranti Group, which delivered technology solutions to the military (eg Tornado aircraft systems), airports (flight information systems) and railways (Heathrow Express communications, Jubilee Line station management and CCTV). Graham built the Group into a highly successful business which was acquired by Ultra Electronics plc and Amey plc in 2000.
Graham’s highly relevant expertise gives added strength to an already experienced Vision Systems Technology team.

In tandem with this appointment, Vision Systems Technology has also secured significant additional funding from NatWest which will enable the business to strengthen its technology base and accelerate its sales growth.
EXCLUSIVE DISTRIBUTION DEAL SIGNED- September 2008
Vision Systems Technology has signed exclusive distribution rights with UK camera manufacturer CSP to sell a new camera – the Micron – designed for the coach and bus market.
CSP Technology Limited and Vision Systems Technology will launch a new camera at the Eurobus show at the NEC in October.
The Micron is the world’s smallest anti-vandal dome with a dramatically smaller profile than other cameras designed for use on vehicles.
RUGGEDISED 3.5" HARDRIVE LAUNCHED – August 2007
Vision Systems Technology has developed a ruggedised 3.5" hard drive to counter the adverse effects of harsh conditions such as extreme temperature, excessive vibration and shock. The disks are ideal for use in all types of vehicles and for a variety of covert applications. Vision Systems Technology uses Seagate ES series drives in a variety of sizes up to 750GB.
Up to four hard drives can be used in series to provide 3TB of total storage, ie sufficient for months of on-vehicle images storage.
LIVE IMAGE TRANSMISSION - Successful trial- August 2007
Vision Systems Technology announces the successful trials of live image transmission of CCTV pictures from on-road vehicles. The system allows real-time streaming of video from vehicles back to both a central control or any authorised PC / Laptop.
COVERT SURVEILLANCE DVR - May 2007
On 01 May 2007 we launched our new Covert Surveillance DVR. Designed for use by police forces, security agencies and government bodies. It works off mains or battery power for fast deployment. A key feature is twin recording rates i.e. simultaneous real time DVD images for high quality evidence plus low bitrate for both narrow band downloads (GPRS, CDMA, 3G, HSPDA etc) also for very long term storage. It also provides live image transmission and remote DVR control for long distance operations. The DVR is complemented by Vision Systems Technology's standard feature of hot-swappable, unlimited capacity, flexible data storage capacity which is perfect for long term missions and discrete in-situ evidence retrieval.
