The Vision Systems Technology VVR1200 series has been designed with many features specifically for use in public transport operations.

DVD-Quality Images

Vision Systems Technology has developed world leading image compression technology. A specialist adaption of market leading H-264 (MPEG4 v.10) image compression that provides excellent image quality (eg no artefacts) and the comparable smallest frame size in the world.

• Excellent image quality provides best possible evidence.
• Small frame size means longer storage times
• Small frame size is also vital for fast data transfer over both WLAN and GPRS/3G.

 

Independent external harddrives for limitless evidence storage

A significant breakthrough for the VVR1200 is the limitless image storage capacity. Competitor mobile CCTV recorders have severely constrained storage, with consequent implications on the quantity and quality of evidential recording.

 

Vision Systems Technology has developed separate external ruggedised harddrives to offer limitless size and flexibility.  A single harddrive now has a 2TB capacity, and 4 disks can be networked together to provide 8TB which is sufficient for 12 months recording on an 8 channel DVR

 

Harddisk caddy separate from rest of DVR

• In tight confines of vehicles, it is often far easier to install two smaller boxes rather than one larger box.
• A small, separate harddisk caddy can be mounted conveniently for image retrieval.

 

Better Protected Harddisks

• The harddisks are the only moving parts that require shock protection. Having a separate smaller and lighter unit enables is far easier and cheaper to protect compared to a whole integrated DVR.
• Vision Systems Technology Harddrives has been independently tested to withstand more than 10G of shock (see test video Vision Systems Technology You Tube channel).

25 frames per second per camera (configurable by camera)

• High quality, high frame rate recording provides the best opportunity for capturing evidence.
• Configurable by camera allows optimum use of storage capacity.
  NB  Competitor products typically restrict frame rate to 25 or 50 fps per DVR, or are unable to process both high frame rates and high image quality).

Up to 16 cameras per DVR

Many mobile DVRs only have a maximum of 8 cameras , which is insufficient for double decker buses

 

Image Resolution from QCIF (176 x 144) to 4CIF (704 x 576).

Provides for optimum setup for each camera, which in turn optimises use of system resources.

 

View live images from the vehicle

The VVR1200 can stream live images whilst maintaining high quality recording. Live images can be configured over GPRS and 3G networks.

 

Mirror image "reversing camera" feature

Most PSV’s require reversing camera functionality. Usually this involves having to install specially modified cameras. The VVR1200 has unique software capability to produce mirror images in real time (at 25fps that’s a lot of pixcels to be moving in real time). This feature avoids the need to buy, install and maintain special reversing cameras.
