special projects
Vision Systems Technology develops bespoke CCTV systems either for specialist applications or as an integrated element of a wider IT solution.
Recently we have worked on police interview suites, trackside rail schemes and protection of remote power sub-stations.
If you have a project or business issue that requires a CCTV input, then contact us to discuss your requirements.
We are particularly strong where the CCTV needs to be integrated with other systems or data sources to deliver specific solutions. Also where the problem lies in a remote location with limited space, power or communications.
Example 1: Web-based real time surveillance solution
A large utility provider had a problem with unauthorised access to a network of more than 50 remote electrical sub-stations.
The utility wanted to have automated monitoring of each site, with loudspeaker local deterrents and with real time alerts of potential incidents. It also wanted to view both live and recorded images of the incident, and get high quality evidence.
Two important constraints were that:
- Communications were limited to mobile phone networks, and
- The utility provider operated a secure, highly restricted IT network which in reality precluded the introduction of new software such as CCTV replay software.
Vision Systems Technology’s solution was to provide a web-based back office solution that only required existing web browsers.
Intruder alerts were notified by email, with a link to the web back office where the operator could find:
- A series of high quality still images taken a second apart before and after the intruder trigger
- A link to view recorded images of the incident. These images are in sufficient quality to assess what was happening, whilst being bandwidth efficient so as to be transmitted quickly from site over a mobile phone network
- Ability to request high quality video downloads for evidential identification.
Example 2: Police Interview Suites
A systems integrator specialising in the police force market wanted a portable 4 channel video + audio recording solution. The recorded data had to be downloaded to a secure network.
The project required specialist software and hardware solutions, delivered to a very tight 4 week delivery timescale for the first unit.
Vision Systems Technology developed a compact solution to fit into a large briefcase, with a simple touchscreen user interface.
Downloading was either via a network connection or optional removable storage. All recordings were encrypted to AES 256bit standards to eliminate any data security concerns.
Vision Systems Technology also worked with the systems integrator to design the network interface for long term storage and transmission of the recorded video + audio.
